Jeep Dealer

For some drivers, a car is simply a car—it is a way to get from one place to another, and all they want from it is a reliable, comfortable ride without any hassles. But for Jeep owners, their Jeep is so much more than that; while it is still a way to get from point A to point B, it is also a partner for adventure and the means by which they can leave civilization behind any time they want. Since the original Willys Jeep hit the scene more than 60 years ago, the modern incarnations of this legendary vehicle that you can find at your favorite Jeep dealer have grown into something more remarkable than anyone had expected.

With a wide range of models available, you have the freedom to choose a Jeep that perfectly meets your needs and that you can count on for many years to come. Whether that means a Jeep Wrangler that continues to live up to the design and capability of the original World War II Jeep or something a large family can pile into, like the Grand Cherokee, we can help you find what you are looking for. We have a fantastic selection of new and pre-owned Jeep models for you to choose from, plus our service experts are here to keep your vehicle in the best shape possible. Come visit us at Jeff Perry Chrysler Jeep today to learn more, and let us show you the Jeep you have been looking for.

History and Legacy of Jeep

The history of the Jeep is intertwined with some of the biggest moments of the 20th Century in world history. Following the First World War, the US Army recognized that it needed a new vehicle for military operations: something that could go anywhere, that was lightweight, and that they could easily keep parts available for repairs. The call went out to more than 100 companies to work on designs for a new military vehicle, but only two were interested: American Bantam Car Company and Willys-Overland. Bantam delivered the winning design, but the US Army felt they lacked the resources necessary for mass production, so the design was awarded to Willys and Ford. The ultimate result was the original Willys MB and Ford GPW—between the two companies, more than 600,000 Jeep vehicles were produced for World War II.

Bantam, Willys, and Ford had delivered precisely what the US Army had wanted, and the result was an amazing vehicle that served throughout every corner of the war effort. Following the war, soldiers came home, and many of them missed the Jeep vehicles they had come to rely on. Recognizing a new market, Willys introduced the Civilian Jeep (CJ) in 1945 and found immediate success with it. The CJ remained in production until the mid-1980s, when it was replaced by its spiritual successor and modern legend: the Jeep Wrangler.

In the years following the war, the Jeep lineup changed and grew along with the company that owns the name. Willys-Overland produced Jeep models after WWII until it was acquired by Kaiser Motors in 1953; Kaiser Motors struggled to find success with it and sold Jeep to American Motors Corporation (AMC) in 1970. AMC continued producing Jeep vehicles, with their investor Renault distributing Jeep models outside the US until they were purchased by Chrysler in 1987. Chrysler merged with Daimler-Benz in 1998 to become DaimlerChrysler, and then Chrysler was sold to a private equity company in 2007, becoming Chrysler Group LLC. This later became Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and, most recently, a part of the Stellantis auto group.

That is a remarkable number of companies to go through over the last 60 years. Still, throughout all that time, the Jeep name has remained emblematic of an adventurous spirit and American ingenuity. Today, the Jeep lineup is remarkably diverse and offers impressive SUVs for just about every driving need. But if you are looking for something that hearkens back to the original Jeep design and the desire for an amazing vehicle ready to go anywhere, you will still find it at a Jeep dealer.

Remarkable New Jeep Models

If you are looking for a new Jeep vehicle, we have you covered with an amazing array of models designed to meet just about every need. With the Jeep Renegade, you find a subcompact crossover model that continues Jeep’s legacy for adventure, while the Compass offers a similarly small design and surprising space inside to enjoy. If you are interested in something larger, then the Grand Cherokee gives you a midsize design with a spacious interior. At the same time, the Grand Cherokee L expands into a three-row SUV that is perfect for a large family.

For drivers looking for something that fully lives up to the reputation the first Jeep vehicles established, you cannot go wrong with the Wrangler. In many ways, the Jeep Wrangler is the descendant of those original World War II vehicles, and it continues to set the high water mark for off-road vehicles worldwide. If you are interested in similar off-road performance, but you prefer a truck design, then the midsize Jeep Gladiator pickup is the perfect choice. We can take you through the full lineup of new Jeep models and ensure you find the right vehicle for your next adventure.
